Higher Ed Leadership

  • Contractor, Credit for Prior Learning. Clients include UWUA Power for America Training Trust Fund, Michigan; National Crosswalk Action Team, Lumina and Carnegie Foundations; and the Idaho State Board of Education. Currently using my military service and higher education experience to assist industry training organizations and educational leaders in mapping skills and competencies that service members obtain in the military, to higher education and industry credentials. The work is focused on helping educators and employers provide accelerated learning pathways for traditionally underserved learners – in order to obtain industry-recognized credentials and greater upward mobility. 
  • Interim Vice President for Instruction and Student Affairs, College of Eastern Idaho. 1,600 enrollment. Leadership of student services for newly formed community college. Oversight of all student affairs functions (admissions, advising, testing, tutoring, registrar, all wrap-around services). Engaged in the re-design of Dual Credit, Online Learning, and Veterans services – including the implementation of college credit for military and workforce training. Also led the implementation of Guided Pathways, Complete College America, and new student orientation initiatives. Involved at the senior level in cross-campus strategic planning, enrollment management and accreditation initiatives. 
  • Vice President of Instruction, Victoria College, Texas. 4,500 enrollment. Involved at the senior level in cross-campus strategic planning, student recruitment, retention, and completion initiatives. Oversight of 100 faculty for all instructional programs (including career-technical, transfer, and basic skills in dual-enrollment and online facets), library, and IT services.
  • Associate Vice President/Vice President of Instruction, Dawson Community College, Glendive, Montna. 1,000 enrollment. Rapidly given CAO duties in assisting the college to reaffirm accreditation status.  Active oversight of enrollment management, tutoring, library, and faculty assignments in general education and career-technical programs.
  • Instructional Dean, San Bernardino and Ventura County Community College Districts, California. 20,000+ enrollment. Direct supervision of 400+ faculty and staff for transfer, career-technical education, basic skills, and international programs. International Teaching
